FO-T310F15AL Installation Instructions
Thank you for choosing Freedom Off-Road for your vehicle application!
Please read instructions before installation. Ensure that all you understand where your parts are to be installed at.
- Chuck the rear tires and jack up the front of the vehicle. Place jack stands on frame rails. Remove the lug nuts and remove the wheels.
- Remove the sway bar end link bolt from the lower control arm by 19mm socket. Retain factory hardware.
- Remove the two bolts holding the lower ball joint cradle to the knuckle by 22mm socket. Retain factory hardware.
- Remove lower control arm to strut bolt by the 22mmsocket and wrench. Retain factory hardware.
- Mark all 4 alignment cams. Loosen but DO NOT remove the inner control arm nuts with 24mm wrench. Allow the lower control arm to swing out of the way.
- Remove the four upper strut nuts with a 14mm wrench. And remove the strut from vehicle. Retain factory hardware.
- Install the LIFT SPACER onto the top of the strut with factory nuts. Torque nuts to 47 ft-lbs.
- Note that compared to the original direction, the strut assembly needs to be rotated for installation.
- Reinstall the strut into the vehicle and install the new bolts provided, torque to 47 ft/lbs.
- Reinstall factory lower strut hardware using a 22mmsocket and wrench. Torque to 61ft/lbs.
- Reinstall the lower ball joint housing to the knuckle using the factory hardware. Tighten with a 22mm socket. Torque to 118ft/lbs.
- Reinstall the lower sway bar link with factory hardware once the vehicle is on the ground. Tighten with a 19mm wrench. Torque to 52ft/lbs.
- Reinstall the lower sway bar link with factory hardware once the vehicle is on the ground. Tighten with a 19mm wrench. Torque to 52ft/lbs.
- Retighten lower control arm bolts with a 24mm wrench. Torque to 100ft/lbs.
In the end, check all hardware is mounted at the correct torque settings. Recheck all work. Re-tighten Control Arm mounting bolts. Test driving, then have a trained technician perform an alignment.
